About Proper Context Home and Design

The Proper Setting

 Proper Context Home and Design was founded in 2022 with the simple goal of helping people transform any space into their perfect setting.  It does not matter if it is a home or workspace, one room or an entire building, we bring decades of experience to   Our mission is help our clients create their perfect setting, on that ideally reflects our clients' personal style and makes them feel like there is no place they would rather be.

 

The Proper Service

We offer bespoke consultation packages fit to accommodate any need.  Ranging from simple meetings and presentations to fully realized packages that include overseeing the entire transformation, our team will bring the highest professionalism and expertise to any project.

    About Proper Context Home and Design

    Who We Are

     

    Proper Context is a husband and wife team – Jess and Jason – who started out designing as a favor to friends and because we loved it. We have grown purely through referrals and have the best clients. Proper Context is a collaboration between client and designers, so that you end up with a design that feels like you. Jason is the spatial expert who does all the layout designs and renderings – he’s amazing at finding out of the box solutions for tricky layouts and quirks. Jess is the obsessive mood boarder and vintage hunter who is great at finding new designs and custom solutions. 

    We believe in a classic base that can be embellished with contemporary styles. Privileging the best materials, we combine high and low cost furniture with vintage finds so that your home is unique and never replicated. We believe in working with local brands as much as possible: it supports small businesses and our local design community, while giving you access to a community of real, accessible people  who are invested in the life of your home and furniture. Local sourcing also helps us have a smaller ecological footprint that is better for our planet. We are invested in long-lasting, quality products that will not break and end up in a landfill.

    We currently live in LA with our beagle, Mabel.
